Did you do well in 2016 when it comes to your smile health? How was your dental hygiene? Do you feel like you’ve generally mastered all that goes into effective oral health care or do you feel more like you’re doing your best (but you’re scrambling to actually do so)? As we near 2017, our team suggests you make sure you’re safeguarding your smile by encouraging you to ask some important questions in the New Year. Some will be for yourself and some for us! Let’s get started.
Ask Yourself: Am I Really Doing My Best?
There’s the pretend kind of “doing your best,” such as exclaiming, “But I’m doing my best!” to your mom when you’re 14 and have a cavity (and she’s upset with you) but you have only been brushing twice a week. Then, of course, there’s the real kind of doing your best for your oral health, which goes something like this: You brush in the morning for two minutes. You brush in the evening for two minutes. You floss once daily. If you’re doing this when you ask yourself how you’re getting along, then the answer is, “Yes!” you’re doing your best. Otherwise, just make a couple changes to optimize your care.
Ask Us: How Do I …?
What don’t you know? If you have ever felt too shy or embarrassed to ask something, take 2017 by the horns (so to speak) and get ready to become as educated as possible. Not sure if you need to brush differently? Wondering if you could use better floss? Curious about how gum disease happens? Trying to figure out if you’re supposed to come in for care when you’re pregnant or not (note: you are!)? You will have a much more successful year when it comes to your oral health if you get used to asking us your questions.
