Dr. Cevin Wyatt

Dr. Wyatt is a native Texan, born in Fort Worth, but spent several years of his childhood in the jungles of Nigeria, Africa as the son of a medical Missionary. His first exposure to dentistry was peddling the belt-driven, portable dental equipment used in the bush lands of Africa.
After returning home to north Texas, he attended Grapevine schools from elementary through high school, then went to college at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Having worked in his father’s dental office from age 12 on, there was little doubt as to his future. He then graduated the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree to begin his dental career.
Throughout the many years of dental practice Dr. Wyatt has had the honor of giving the use of his skills to the needy and less fortunate around the world. He has done volunteer mission dental treatment in 9 Central and South American countries, from starting clinics supported by local and DFW churches to basic dental care high in the Ecuadorian Mountains sent by the Timmy Foundation out of Indianapolis.
He has been called upon by the US Military on several occasions to treat and prepare our fine young men and women to represent the USA in Afghanistan and Iraq. Dr. Wyatt also volunteered his services on the World Health ship “The Logos Hope” for three months leaving from Denmark, heading to multiple ports throughout the Mediterranean Sea to give care as the only dental officer on board.
When asked, Dr. Wyatt will always deny he is a grand humanitarian but does these things in order to better appreciate the life we take for granted in the USA and a little adventure makes for some good stories, of which he has many.
After working in several other cities in Texas to help where is years of experience have been needed, he will be the first to say, “It’s been a great ride and I have gone far and learned much, but I am finally so glad to be settling in beautiful east Texas and this is where I will be”.
Dr. Wyatt has two children both attending UNT and doing well. His father is 85 and still practices orthodontics. I guess it’s in the blood.
It’s not all about dentistry though. Dr. Wyatt is a long distance cyclist having done many 100 plus miles bicycle races as well as a tournament tennis player. He loves horses and his family lives on a working cattle ranch in Glen Rose, Texas called the W3R (Wyatt 3 River). He is also a long distance Motorcycle Enthusiast. Once 4 years ago, he rode a motorcycle solo from Grapevine to the Arctic Ocean, 300 miles north of the Arctic Circle to see the Northern Lights, however was disappointed to get there and be told that in the summer in never gets dark and he just didn’t think about that. “We all must laugh at ourselves.”
